Our Model TGB-10517 is our largest guard and used in specialty applications where bushing diameters are considerably larger than normal distribution voltage equipment. Our extra-large guard is designed for equipment with a bushing skirt diameter of less than 10.5 inches; this would include large substation transformer bushings, large station potheads or any specialty equipment needing extra-large coverage. Generally, transmission voltage equipment is large enough in size, and the equipment is spaced far enough apart, preventing animal induced outage.

Additional Information:

  • 2 elongated latches and 4 hinges.
  • Support ribs added on the inside to keep rigid over a long period of time.
  • Flexible fingers at the bottom of the guard allow it to grip the first (top) bushing skirt securely while the top exit leads flex to allow the lead wire to easily exit the guard.
  • Hot stick handles allow for installation with hot sticks without de-energizing equipment.
